We want to emphasize that what you see here, ultimately, is a statistical reflection of this archive specifically, not necessarily all of historical cinema. In trying to make Period Piece more comprehensive, we've added a great many titles, but there is always the potential for missing content that may skew this data. Furthermore, saltiness is our own subjective measure of historical accuracy and is above all, a simple shorthand. It provides a convenient quantitative means of comparing titles, but it is also a relatively arbitrary metric determined by our team of editors.
